Meet the OSM Shield Team
Prior to founding OSM Shield in 2010, Mark Walker founded Onesource Global Manufacturing, a global sourcing company that provides OEM work for US brands and retailers in the outdoor products market. In parallel, Mark founded Onesource Gear, a promotional products company manufacturing headwear and other apparel items in Asia for the promotional products industry. With offices in Colorado and Wuxi, China, Mark expanded his OEM business and made related and strategic acquisitions over the course of a decade, ultimately acquiring some of the company’s they provided manufacturing services to. Mark began his professional career as the founder and owner of Colorado Mountain Express, a resort transportation system between outlying airports and Colorado Resorts. He founded the company in 1983, and over the course of 14 years grew the business to 230 vehicles and 430 employees. In 1997, Mark sold the transportation business. Mark actively participates on outside Boards and is the Co-Founder of the WWTD Chicago Classic, a Make-A-Wish organization that has raised over $250,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memorial of his son.
Jeremy graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Jeremy has extensive experience in logistics management, financial modeling, and digital marketing development, as well as OSM Shield technology development. Jeremy works extensively with NC State University to oversee the OSM Shield technology research and development, and has worked closely to open OSM Shield’s new Innovations Center in Denver, Colorado. Jeremy is also OSM’s brand manager, ensuring quality and consistency.
After graduating from Miami University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Stephany moved to Chicago where she spent most of her timing working as a Media Planner for MillerCoors. Managing her own team, Stephany was accountable for the execution of all local MillerCoors media plans for all 35 MillerCoors brands for the entire Midwest. In 2015, Stephany began working for OSM Shield as the Account Executive. She currently manages the logistics and chemical distribution for all current accounts, and has taken on a sales role to build the OSM Shield customer base. Stephany is also Co-Founder of the WWTD Chicago Classic, a Make-A-Wish organization that has raised over $250,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation in honor of her brother. She has taken on the Director role, managing a group of 15 volunteers and facilitating 2 charity events per year.
Danny is OSM’s China Country Manager. Danny graduated from the Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering with a Bachelor’s of Business English. Danny has more than 24 years of experience in the home textile industry specializing in merchandise management, mattress ticking, and other bedding products. Danny is well versed in a variety of textile products through his vast experience and extensive knowledge in the industry. He has experience in sourcing, new developments, and special functions of different textile products. Danny helps manage communication, logistics, mill trials, sales, and marketing in China for OSM.
Lena McCord is a graduate of the College of Textiles at NC State University where she earned a BS in Fashion and Textile Management. During her time as a student at NC State, Lena was a dyeing and finishing research assistant. She worked closely with leaders in industry and academia to perform a wide range of research based on textile wet processing applications. Lena has been specifically interested in sustainability and the social impact of textiles and the textile industry since 2012 when she worked for Sustainable Health Enterprises – a nonprofit which taught women in Africa how to produce a banana fiber sanitary pad which created sustainable jobs and an eco-friendly, affordable health solution for small communities. In her new role as Technology and Innovations Manager at OSM Shield, Lena will run OSM’s Denver Innovation Center while exploring new innovations in chemistry and applications technology to make sure that OSM Shield continues to lead the industry in sustainable high performance finishing.
Keld Krogh Nielsen
Keld Graduated from Textile Business Academy in Denmark. He has 20 years of experience with textile development and manufacturing. Keld was the Winner of the innovation contest on national television in 2007 “The best Idea of Denmark”
Keld has developed many innovative products from packaging concepts to electronic products.
Joined the OSM Team in 2019 as regional manager for Europe.
Nik graduated with a degree in polymer and color chemistry from the North Carolina State University College of Textiles. He spent two years working as a process engineer at Meridian Specialty Yarn Group in Valdese, North Carolina before moving to Colorado to work with OSM Shield as laboratory manager. Nik is specialized in process optimization and experimental testing of textiles and works at OSM Shield to deliver top notch experimental testing along with valuable insight into textile production optimization.
Steve Scherer joined the OSM Shield team in 2015. Steve has an outstanding track record of performance with multi-faceted, complex matters in both start-up and established company environments. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Steve has held multiple executive roles helping businesses grow to their full potential. After receiving his certification in Public Accountancy in 1983, Steve went on to serve as the in-house counsel for SENCORP, then as the attorney and financial advisor for Sentron Medical, Inc. He went on to become the Vice President of KMK Consulting Company in 2000 in which he specialized in business consulting and advisory services. In 2002 OPG, Inc. hired Steve, where he lead the team as CEO for 5 years. In 2007, Steve became the VP of the Medical Division of Mabis/DMI Healthcare, where he hired, trained, and managed five regional account managers and national sales managers, with the responsibility of over 30 independent sales representatives. Most recently, Steve was the Massa Healthcare and Dyad Medical Sourcing’s Vice President, where he structured, implemented, and managed a joint venture between MHC and the regional healthcare distributor.
Anais Chen Kewei
After graduating from Shanghai University in 1992, Anais began her career with Johnson and Johnson as a Specialist in their Medical division in China. Following Johnson and Johnson, Anais took on a role as an Account Executive for Grey Group China, which is among the largest global communication companies in the world. Anais has been with OSM Shield since inception working as the China Supply Chain Consultatn. Anais is responsible for establishing partnerships and factory relationships throughout China.
